Duties/Responsibilities
The City is seeking to fill the Economic Development Director position to work under the general supervision of the City Manager. The Economic Development Director is responsible for the planning and implementation of the city’s economic development programs to include business recruitment and retention, marketing and redevelopment. Experience working with a city or county economic development organization or a non-profit or chamber of commerce is desired as well as developing relationships and partnerships with with county and state economic development stakeholders and site selection consultants and the CRA. Knowledge of economic development financing and incentives, and redevelopment strategies and best practices for commercial corridors, downtown / central business district and other industrial and mixed-use areas.
The city is seeking an economic development professional with the ability and initiative to establish the City’s economic development program.
Minimum Requirements
The minimum requirements for the job include a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Economic or Community Development, Business Administration or Economics or related field. Certified Economic Developer Designation is desirable and a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in economic development in the public or private sector.
Supplemental Information
The annual salary range is $82,763 to $132,366. The expected hiring range is $92,000 to $120,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
