Position

This new role will oversee expanded capabilities for donor acquisition and stewardship of new audiences through Salesforce and complementary platforms such as Mailchimp. This person will maximize the donor stewardship experience as client organizations expand their donor base to new audiences and rapidly increase the number of donors. Alongside a growing team, this position will design, implement and drive a data-based strategy for the development department to equip clients to scale effectively. In addition, this person will strengthen the Salesforce instance as it relates to direct mail, text message, email, and other streams of acquisition and stewardship to supplement the organization’s strong major gifts capability.

The position will report to the Senior Director of Development and can be based in our Harrisburg, King of Prussia, or virtual office.

Responsibilities

The director will:

  • Be an organizational administrator of Salesforce, especially as it relates to expanding audiences and stewarding new donors,
  • Provide reports and data analysis that will help achieve individual and team-wide goals,
  • Assist colleagues and executives in their fundraising by utilizing Salesforce features and software integrations to their maximum capabilities,
  • Conduct experiments on how to best communicate with segments of the donor audience,
  • Oversee Salesforce data and processes for people signing up through issue campaigns on various channels, and conduct experiments to convert them to donors,
  • Create and scale automated communication streams from Salesforce for new and prospective donors,
  • Ensure that Salesforce data is entered, stored, and reported to maximize effectiveness,
  • Expand donor recognition processes to add giving clubs and other new ideas,
  • Provide real-time data analysis to drive strategic development decisions, among other responsibilities.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record of using systems, preferably Salesforce, to analyze data and help make team-wide data-driven decisions. This person should also have an entrepreneurial outlook and thrive in a rapid growth professional environment in which experimentation and innovation is encouraged. Experience with other aspects of nonprofit fundraising are not required, but are welcomed. A college degree is neither required nor preferred. We are looking for an individual with:

  • Exceptional commitment to detail and accuracy,
  • Alignment with the organization’s mission and objectives,
  • An entrepreneurial, self-driven spirit who can work collaboratively,
  • The virtual office is acceptable, but Eastern Standard work hours are expected.
