Position Specific Responsibilities
At the Shocker Career Accelerator, we want to help all students gain professional skills in resume writing, interviewing, and preparing for that dream job. As an Account Manager for Employer Relations, you are responsible for meeting with businesses or internal customers to build relationships and partnerships, understand their hiring needs, and create a collaboration with them. The ideal candidate is positive, takes initiative, and wants to make a difference in students’ lives!
Summary of Responsibilities
Provides business consultation, employment and project support to internal and external business partners for their applied learning needs. Acts as the primary liaison, business consultant, and talent management coordinator for all industry/employer partners, as well as internal customers for the Shocker Career Accelerator.
Essential Functions
Acts as primary liaison to internal partners, and external industry employer partners, to assess their existing, emerging, and future business and hiring applied learning needs
Expands and maintains professional business relationships with community and business-to-business outreach
Provides on-going consultation to business partners on the services and capabilities available to them
Supervises the posting and sourcing of all applied learning positions to provide the most efficient and high-quality talent pipeline for internal and external employer partners
Establishes and assists internal and external business partners on the execution of recruitment plans for applied learning, ensuring that all service agreements are delivered
Supports the strategic growth and improvement with collaboration, creativity, and community outreach

Requirements
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or other related field
Preferred Education
Minimum Experience
One (1) year of of related experience
Preferred Experience
  • Strong understanding of business practices and the ability to provide quality consultation to a broad range of industry partners.
  • Well-developed professional network that includes private business, non-profit, local government, and business-to-business relationships.
  • Experience in Higher Education, Recruitment, Sales, Customer Service, or other professional development programs
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Understanding of business practices and familiarity with a broad range of industry partners
  • Passion for building relationships and expanding the program outreach.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer service experience
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
