Job Description
The Montgomery College Adult ESOL & Literacy Grant Program is seeking teachers of Adult Literacy, GED® Preparation. Come join the largest adult education program in Maryland! Our program focuses on life, literacy, and civic skills and GED® Preparation (academic) instruction. Classes meet days, evening, or Saturdays at various sites throughout the county. Classes will be taught on Campus.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Faculty member will be expected to teach Adult Literacy or GED® test preparation classes.
- Faculty members will abide to program policies and procedures.
- Faculty members will participate in training sessions prior to the class start date.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Minimum 6 months experience teaching Adult Literacy and/or GED®
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in at least one of the following subjects: Math, Reading or Special Education.
- We seek applicants with demonstrated success in working with diverse populations.
- Faculty members are expected to have access to a personal computer with virus protection that can connect to the internet outside of the work location (i.e., office, classroom, college campus)*. Montgomery College (MC) provides an MC e-mail account and access to the learning platform, password-protected faculty sections of the website, college listservs, and other faculty communications tools. *If you do not have access to a personal computer, please notify the department chair at the time of interview. Subject to available funds, the college may be able to provide temporary access to resources.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without a sponsor.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree and/or extensive experience in Secondary Education (Math, Language Arts-reading & writing, science, social studies) preferred.
