Job Description:

Reporting to the Division Coordinator in Workforce Development and Community Education, the incumbent in this position will implement and oversee a federally funded grant program and activities that provide educational services to students of WCC. The P/T Program Specialist will be responsible for oversight of promotion and entry into the program. In addition, the P/T Program Specialist will oversee all aspects of the program from entry through final outcomes for each participant.

Major Responsibilities/Activities:

  • Maintains contact with grant partners and students.  Grant's partners include administration, faculty, community, and employer partners to ensure programs goals and objectives are being met.
  • Ensures that the delivery of all program aspects is met through consistent monitoring of all program components.   
  • Oversee promotion of and entry into short term workforce programs.
  • Monitors and records students' progress during the different stages of the program including the completion of short-term workforce training, employment placement, and retention.
  • Provides information sessions that inform the public and prospective students regarding program objectives, outcomes, and benefits.  
  • Plans and organizes guest speakers related to educational programs and healthcare careers
  • Facilitates posting of tuition to student accounts and access to other instructional materials as needed.
  • Keeps records of student achievements and progress through program enrollment to grant program completion.
  • Compiles monthly reports that document program's progress towards meeting objectives and outcomes.
  • All other duties, as assigned.

 

 


Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  A minimum of a Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in the field of education, educational administration, recruitment and/or training, or in the analysis of program operations, marketing or customer services.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:   Previous workforce development and grant management experience strongly preferred.


Additional Information:

HOURLY RATE OF PAY: $34.60/hour.  No benefits.  This position is fully grant funded.
