PT Counselor - Basic Needs Counselor - Continuous Applicant Pool
Job Description
- Job Duties
- Provide Basic Needs counseling to students both individually and in workshops.
- Be able to conduct biopsychosocial assessments for students and provide referrals on and off campus.
- When working with individuals, help connect them to Cal Fresh, MediCal and other public benefits.
- When providing workshops on Basic Needs (Cal Fresh enrollment, etc), work with students in small groups and one on one to help them sign up.
- Participate in college, departmenta, and faculty organization activities.
- Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree in one of the following:
- Counseling
- Rehabilitation Counseling
- Clinical Psychology
- Counseling Psychology
- Guidance Counseling
- Educational Counseling
- Social Work
- Career Development
- Marriage and Family Therapy
- Marriage, Family and Child Counseling
- or the Equivalent
(NOTE: A license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) is an alternative qualification for this discipline, pursuant to title 5, section 53410.1.)- Preferred Qualifications
- Licensed Master's Degree in Social Work
- Social work experience and Basic Needs support for students at community colleges or universities
