Lecturer in Healthcare Sciences (Dental Hygiene) - 50% FTE
(Ref: BU02856)
Grade 7: £34,304 - £40,927 p.a. pro rata

Bangor University School of Medical and Health Sciences is offering an exciting opportunity for an aspiring dental hygiene lecturer to join our team on a permanent part-time (50% FTE) basis.

Candidates will have current professional registration with the General Dental Council as a Dental Therapist (we would additionally consider Dental Hygiene registration). An undergraduate degree or equivalent is also essential (applicants with a Diploma of Higher Education in Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy will be considered).

The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post.

This post is available on our teaching and scholarship career track. Here at the School of Medical and Health Sciences, we value the partnership we have with students and prioritise support and encouragement for all our students across their differing programmes. The School offers a welcoming context for those who are less experienced in teaching to develop their potential. The successful candidate will have opportunities to contribute to teaching and learning across the School’s portfolio, but primarily within the dental hygiene programme.

The School mission is to champion and promote excellent medical, health and social care science, research, scholarship, teaching and learning, quality and values with people who use services, practitioners and stakeholders. To promote language and cultural competence relevant to local, national and international partners, and to provide an inclusive culture and environment for staff and students within the School.

The successful candidate will be expected to commence as soon as possible.

Applications will only be accepted via our on-line recruitment website, jobs.bangor.ac.uk. However, in cases of access issues due to disability, paper application forms are available by telephoning 01248 383865.

Closing date for applications: 15th July, 2022.

Informal enquiries about the posts can be made to Dr Lynne Williams (Head of School) lynne.williams@bangor.ac.uk or Beverley Littlemore, programme lead for Dental Hygiene b.littlemore@bangor.ac.uk
