Job Details:
General Notes

Earliest start date is 5/1/22. This is a grant funded position with an end date of 8/31/23, renewable based upon availability of funding, work performance, and progress toward research goals.

Purpose

This postdoctoral fellowship focuses on training in methodologies and theoretical models related to exposure therapy, computational modeling, and neurocircuitry of PTSD. The fellow would work closely with the PI and larger research team on extramurally funded projects as well as analysis of existing datasets. There will be numerous opportunities for manuscript and grant writing towards the advancement of the fellow’s career development goals.

Responsibilities

Assist with projects related to augmenting exposure therapy for PTSD.

Assist with projects related to computational modeling of decision-making in PTSD.

Assist with manuscript writing and grant writing.

Required Qualifications

PhD in Psychology, Neuroscience or other relevant field received within the last three years. Background in assessment and psychopathology of trauma and PTSD. Background in clinical and cognitive models of PTSD. Proficiency with statistics, programming, and relevant software packages (e.g, R, Matlab, Python). Experience with MRI.

Salary Range

$53,760 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

May work around standard office conditions

Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation

Climbing of stairs

Occasional weekend, overtime and evening work to meet deadlines

Retirement Plan Eligibility:
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
