Summary

Instruction of lecture and laboratory component of undergraduate course in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences for the fall term (August 30, 2022 – December 31, 2022).  This includes development, updating, preparation, and delivery of lecture and laboratory exercises; grading exams and homework assignments; supervision of Graduate Student Instructors; grading of assignments, quizzes, and exams; and meeting with students virtually during office hours. 
 

Course Description

Earth 408:  Introduction to Geographical Information Systems (3 credits) – 33.33% effort 

The appointment is for Fall Term 2022 only (August 30 – December 31, 2022). 
 

Required Qualifications*

The candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences, Earth Sciences, Geology, or a related field. Experience instructing introductory environmental sciences courses and demonstrated excellence in teaching is required. Experience instructing upper-level undergraduate courses is preferred.   
 

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
