Job Title: Director of Academic Youth Programs

Reporting Relationship: Associate Vice President of Academic Operations

Unit: IWU-Marion

Department: General Academic Support-IWU Marion

Campus Location: Jackson Library Building

Summary of Position: The Director of Academic Youth Programs oversees various programs on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University catering to the K-12 population. This position is funded by a Lilly grant through June 30, 2025.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build partnerships with academic departments to accomplish strategic objectives
  • Build relationships with organizations that serve under-served populations in Indiana and the local community
  • Collaborate with multiple departments within IWU-Marion to accomplish objectives including Enrollment Management, Marketing, Admissions, Upward Bound and Conference Services
  • Organize the details surrounding the implementation of the grant objectives. This includes day, weekend, and week-long events. Some events occur in the evenings and summers
  • Direct camps as assigned including hiring, team leadership, participant interaction, schedule management and budget management
  • Study ways to sustain the objectives of IWU academic youth programs after the grant ends
  • Develop assessment tools
  • Collect data and assist with the grant reporting process
  • Supervisory responsibility for student workers, possible internship and practicum oversight

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree required

Experience

  • Professional experience in the field of or administration of education
  • Participation in a non-profit organization that serves the under-served population is desired

  • Training or experience in diversity and inclusion, preferred
