Secretary II/Curriculum Assistant
Department : Academic Services

Duties
  • Under the direction of the Dean of Academic Services, the Secretary II/Curriculum Assistant performs varied secretarial and administrative duties.
  • Duties include use of multiple software programs to monitor reports, budgets, purchases, correspondence and communications as well as processing of paperwork and maintaining computer database, academic catalog, and updating the college system for curriculum changes, and additions approved by the State.
  • Maintains a close and highly responsive relationship to the day-to-day work activities of the Dean of Academic Services.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision using a considerable amount of judgement to make responsible decisions. Must be able to interact with all levels of staff, faculty, and administrators.
  • Must be capable of handling confidential material and maintaining confidence.
  • The Secretary/Curriculum Assistant is dedicated to the learning college concepts by developing programs and facilitating activities that promote student success and lifelong learning.
Education/Experience
Associate in Applied Science degree in secretarial science (or related area), certified professional secretarial certificate, or equivalent college hours in secretarial science required. Minimum of five years secretarial experience required.
Qualifications
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Must be able to compose letters and memos.
  • Effective communication skills, interpersonal skills and critical thinking skills.
  • Good organizational skills in order to handle multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to handle confidential material and maintain confidence.
  • Ability to use various department-specific software programs.
  • Must possess basic bookkeeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
  • Ability to type 50 words per minute.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to compose minutes.

Monday – Friday
8:00 am to 4:45 pm (hours may vary/change)
Minimum Starting Rate : $21.87
