Job Description
Whitman School of Management is seeking a part time instructor who teach FIN301 – Essentials of Finance course.
Introduction to basics of finance: time value of money, capital budgeting techniques, uncertainty and the risk/return trade-off, security market efficiency, cost of capital.

Qualifications
Master’s degree or equivalent

Job Specific Qualifications
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Industry experience in areas related to finance
  • Prior university-level teaching in a related area is preferred

Responsibilities
  • Creating and updating course syllabus in line with overall course goals and major program objectives, in collaboration with appropriate full-time faculty
  • Preparation of lectures, projects, and other student assignments
  • Teach the class on Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:45 PM – 8:05 PM.

  • Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours
  • Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance level of the course
  • Meeting all designated class periods
  • Submitting completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to university regulations and school/college-level policies

  • Providing departmentally sanctioned form for completing student evaluations

  • Grading student assignments and exams in timely manner
  • Building a positive rapport with students and other faculty members
  • Other responsibilities as indicated.
