Salary Schedule/Range : CFT-42

Under general supervision, the position performs technical level support to assist the Human Resources Generalists in position classification, compensation, evaluation, recruitment, selection, and labor and employee relations.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

  1. Aids departmental recruitments efforts by performing activities such as scheduling interviews, resolving interview cancellations, reserving interview spaces, collecting applicant screening documents, assist interviewees onsite, scheduling recruitment meetings, and developing recruitment and interview materials.
  2. Prepares documents, organizes orientations, and handles any relevant paperwork related to the onboarding of successful candidates.
  3. Screens visitors, telephone calls, and other communications to determine urgency and nature of business, and provides information about departmental services.
  4. Enters, audits, and maintains data across multiple HRIS systems.
  5. Complies reports and spreadsheet, and assists with ad-hoc projects.
  6. Organizes the fingerprinting of new employees for background checks; serves as Livescan processing backup.
  7. Prepares personnel files and maintains hard and digital copies of employee records.
  8. Organizes a variety of events such as meetings, departmental events, and trainings.
  9. Schedules appointments for applicants and employees to meet with departmental personnel.
  10. Reviews departmental documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  11. Conducts basic maintenance for departmental peripheral equipment by scheduling maintenance, scheduling repairs, replacing toner cartridges, and performing other related services.
  12. Performs related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Associate’s Degree, or higher.
  2. One (1) year of experience in Human Resources in a supporting role performing high-level clerical and technical duties.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Familiarity with Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) payroll practices.
  2. Familiarity with standard hiring practices, and full cycle recruiting processes. Experience understanding collective bargaining contracts and administrative policies.
  3. Experience with NeoEd, Banner and HRS is a plus.
  4. Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business.
  5. Evidence of strong organizational and time management skills.
  6. Evidence of excellent, written communication skills

  3. Apply knowledge of payroll practices to assist with projects and assignments.
  4. Use event management systems to reserve the use of district spaces.
  5. Conduct livescan fingerprinting for multiple individuals
  6. Use general office software and equipment to communicate with applicants and District staff, develop reports, develop personnel files, develop recruitment materials, aggregate data, return requests for information, and recruitment communications.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

  1. The position will continuously (5.6 hours – 8 hours) be required to exhibit the ability to communicate with District staff, students, and applicants to provide information. The position will continuously (5.6 hours – 8 hours) exhibit the ability to sit, use of sight and fine manipulation to operate a computer and general office equipment.
  2. The position will seldom (30 minutes or less) be required to stand while conducting new employee orientations. The position will seldom (30 minutes or less) be required to walk to travel to various district conference rooms to conduct recruitment activities.


ENVIRONMENTAL ELEMENTS
Continuously (5.6 hours – 8 hours) work in an indoor office environment within a moderate temperature and have continuous contact with customers, end users, and the general public.
