This position allows for the opportunity to acquire life and job skills and work experience while being reimbursed. This is also an opportunity for learning and growth in the skill gap areas Alabama employers have deemed an urgent need in the labor force. Work is performed under the close supervision of skilled craft personnel in accordance with department rules and regulations. The Junior Office Clerk will be employed temporarily through August 31, 2022, funded by the Alabama State Department of Human Resources Summer Youth Employment Project. Continued employment is not guaranteed beyond the funding provided through this project.
SALARY: Compensation will be on the Lurleen B. Wallace Community College local Salary Schedule L at a rate of $12.00 per hour for a maximum of 29 hours per week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform basic clerical work such as distributing mail, delivering packages, stocking copy machine paper, and other related duties to help department and College operations.
- Make copies and scan documents for staff members as requested.
- Assist in maintaining and updating filing, inventory, and database systems.
- Shred materials as requested, maintaining all confidential information.
- Organize assigned workload to meet appropriate deadlines.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Eligible participants must be aged 16-24 and have a household income below 200% of the 2022 Federal Poverty Guidelines. In addition, participants must complete the Eligibility & Affirmation for Summer Youth Employment form (SYP-2074).
