Job Title

Associate Director of Education and Outreach, Transformational Leaders Program

Job Description

The Transformational Leaders Program (TLP) serves first generation and historically under-resourced undergraduate scholars successfully navigate their Notre Dame experience while also working to make campus a welcoming and supportive environment for all students.

As a member of the TLP leadership team the Associate Director for Education and Outreach will establish and maintain ongoing, pastoral relationships with TLP students, various units within the University, and the families of our TLP scholars. Along with the TLP Director, the Associate Director will collaborate with the Education and Outreach Specialists and Program Manager, develop strategic plans around ongoing programming, engage the wider Notre Dame community in conversations around diversity, equity, and inclusion, organize and direct family outreach, and create enrichment opportunities for the TLP scholars. The Associate Director will represent the program as needed across the wider university landscape, hold regular office hours for students and university partners, orchestrate community gatherings, and represent the program in instances where the director is unable to do so. Additionally, the Associate Director will work on creating a vision for nurturing the holistic development of the scholars with careful attention to their spiritual, cultural, and emotional lives. The Associate Director will also be charged with developing immersion opportunities for TLP scholars and overseeing various aspects of pre-matriculation programming and Summer Session student engagement. Finally, the Associate Director must demonstrate the ability to engage regularly with multiple constituent groups – students, families, University staff and faculty, alumni, and benefactors sometimes simultaneously.

This position is an emergent one with opportunities to shape and craft aspects of the work in concert with university administration and changing needs. The TLP Associate Director must have the ability to handle and interpret sensitive information with discretion and a high level of confidentiality. They will embrace the mission of the University of Notre Dame, a Catholic university founded by the Congregation of the Holy Cross.
