Job Title

Education and Outreach Specialist, Transformational Leaders Program

Job Description

The Transformational Leaders Program (TLP) serves first generation and historically under-resourced undergraduate scholars successfully navigate their Notre Dame experience while also working to make campus a welcoming and supportive environment for all students.

The Education and Outreach Specialist is a lynchpin of the TLP program. Each Specialist will guide and support a cohort group of approximately 80 scholars working to establish meaningful peer to peer relationships and assist with building a supportive scholarly community. Each Specialist will also provide individualized guidance and mentoring for our scholars. In addition, they will establish and maintain working relationships throughout the University including College level academic advisers, the Learning Resource Center, Career Services, the Center for Student Support and Care, Residential Life, Office of Student Enrichment, University Health Services, the Enrollment Division, including Financial Aid, and the Center for University Advising on behalf of our students. Specialists provide support for the TLP’s physical space with regular office hours, develop and manage academic related peer groups, and create targeted programming and events in collaboration with other members of the TLP team and units across campus. Specialists will also be integrally involved in pre-matriculation programming and Summer Session student engagement.

Specialists must share a commitment to a developmental model of advocating for, advising, and engaging with students. They must also commit to deepening their own knowledge about developmental, psychological, social, physical, and intellectual issues related to young adulthood and trends in higher education.

This position is an emergent one with opportunities to shape and craft aspects of the work in concert with university administration and changing needs. The TLP Education and Outreach Specialist must have the ability to handle and interpret sensitive information with discretion and a high level of confidentiality, work collaboratively, and embrace the mission of the University of Notre Dame, a Catholic university founded by the Congregation of the Holy Cross.
