Responsibilities* As a member of the DE&I Team, your primary responsibilities will focus on fostering student engagement within the School of Public Health In collaboration with the DEI Program Manager, develop plans for: Student engagement in sharing the results of the evaluation of the first five year DEI Strategic Plan (DEI 1.0) Student engagement in the development of the next five year DEI Strategic Plan (DEI 2.0) SPH community engagement in the development of the next five year DEI Strategic Plan (DEI 2.0) Assist in thinking through student engagement more broadly, including but not limited to: Best practices when communicating with students Developing avenues and pathways for student feedback regarding DEI-related issues, including but not limited to creating Qualtrics surveys or Google Forms, etc Creating compelling communication. How do we translate data into compelling communication resources? How do we take the information we have and make it interesting to people? Liaise with SPH Student Organization DEI Leaders & Student Life Attend weekly 1:1 meetings with DEI Program Manager (DEI PM) and bi-weekly small group meetings with DEI PM and DEI Program Assistant Required Qualifications* Experience with issues in graduate education, student development, leadership development, and diversity issues in higher education Experience developing student engagement tools & programming Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, prioritization, and follow-through Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work and communicate effectively and professionally with the University community as well as external constituents Ability to work collaboratively or independently, as the task requires Demonstrated competency with Microsoft and Google productivity tools including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation programs Desired Qualifications* N/A Contact Information Questions regarding this position may be emailed to Mateen Zafer - mzafer@umich.edu.
