| Posting Summary | Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Assistant in Cancer Health Equity and Engagement Division at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. The primary purpose of the Program Assistant position is to assist the Cancer Institute of New Jersey Cancer Health Equity team with study initiation, participant recruitment, and collecting data from studies. This position is responsible for study startup procedures and developing study materials, as well as screening, consenting, and enrolling participants, and ensuring the accuracy of data collected from research participants, information transcribed from patient medical records/survey forms and other sources onto study specific case report forms or into electronic data capture systems. May also assist with intervention implementation and fidelity checks. Ensures protocol compliance per Food and Drug Administration (FDA), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, Office for Human Research Protection (OHRP), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), institutional guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs) set forth by Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey and Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) and as explicated in study specific procedures. This position is contingent upon grant funding. Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Develops study materials and participates in study initiation and regulatory activities, including IRB submissions and database creation.
- Recruits participants, conducts informed consent, and collects data for assigned research studies according to protocols.
- Conducts study assessments, interviews, and/or interventions with participants, maintaining adherence to protocols.
- May conduct qualitative data analysis. Submits to regular evaluations for intervention quality assurance.
- Works with complex computerized records systems and maintains security and integrity.
- In collaboration with the leadership, study staff and other research staff, contractors, physicians and/or other health providers, obtain source documents (i.e. medical record documentation) as needed. Submits specialized reports as needed.
- Maintains research record (e.g. patient consent, eligibility, Case Report Forms (CRF), surveys, participant correspondence, intervention materials, registration confirmation, corresponding source documents, etc.) for all study participants.

| COVID-19 Immunization Requirement | Under Policy 60.1.35 , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
