| Posting Summary | This position develops and implements marketing and communications strategies for Rutgers Law School across multiple platforms — including, but not limited to, external media, institutional website, social media, and collateral print marketing materials — while adhering to university brand and editorial standards. The position also is charged with maintaining compliance with ABA website standards. The position provides public relations counsel to academic and administrative leadership and serves as point person for communications matters related to Rutgers Law School. The position has the authority to hire vendors for print, video, photography, and design purposes within the guidelines of the university’s procurement policies and with budget authorization from Law School leadership (or designee). The position has the authority to represent Rutgers Law School to external audiences and to make judgments on the delivery of that representation in manners that are consonant with the Law School’s priorities. The position will also coordinate and collaborate with relevant administrators in the Camden and Newark Chancellors’ offices and University Relations.

| COVID-19 Immunization Requirement | Under Policy 60.1.35 , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Prospective employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment must provide proof they have received a booster within two weeks (14 calendar days) of eligibility . Based on current guidance, individuals are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 two weeks after receiving the final dose of any COVID-19 vaccine authorized or approved for use in the United States by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Eligibility for a booster against COVID-19 varies and is explained on the University’s web site located at https://coronavirus.rutgers.edu/covid-19-vaccine . Failure to provide proof of primary vaccination and booster will result in rescission of a prospective employee’s offer of employment and/or disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Minimum Education and Experience | Bachelor’s degree in public relations, marketing, communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and understanding, as appropriate, of public relations, promotions, marketing, writing, editing, communications, and project management. Must have a minimum of ten years of relevant experience in public relations or related functions.

Performs professional work that requires specialized and general knowledge of one or more fields of public relations and marketing. Manages partnerships with external constituents to develop events and programs. Available to work occasional evening and weekend hours in addition to the standard workweek.
