| Posting Summary | Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst I (Grants & Contracts) in the Finance Department at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. The primary purpose of Senior Financial Analyst I (Grants and Contracts) is to provide research specific support and guidance to Principal Investigator’s basic research post administration of contracts. The role is to safeguard CINJ contract resources and determine appropriate allocability and allowability in the daily administration of study budgets, maintenance of documentations from the initial and final end of contracts related to financial aspects of project accounts. Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Responsible for the post award administration and coordination of assigned grants and
contracts for research and other non-sponsored programs. - Quantitative and financial analysis of complex spreadsheet from Oracle diverse financial
system to provide timely and insightful analysis of projects. - Assists in the budget development of grant and contracts application in federal, state and
other Agencies such as Institute of Higher Education, Voluntary Health agencies and corporate contracts. - Not just limited to Corporate research contracts but also include federal and state and other
sponsored agencies to ensure posting of accurate journal entries to the sub and general ledger. - Work diligently to collaborate with GCA central Grant Specialist specially in the
reconciliation of billings arising from all sources of Grants and Contract research sponsored programs. - Maintain financial analysis template to ensure allocation of cost and payment from sponsored
programs are allowable and allocable. - Prepares monthly budget reports of program assigned projects, approves Marketplace
requisitions and provide responses to inquiries relates to contract awards. - Submits cost transfers and budget allocation through journal entry by cost center in Oracle
Financial system. - Closely monitors project account balances and manages all sources of grants and contract
awards and provide detailed transaction reports to avoid deficits. - Analyze Oracle project account verification to ensure that project costs interfaced to Oracle
general ledger accounts. | COVID-19 Immunization Requirement | Under Policy 60.1.35 , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Minimum Education and Experience | - Bachelor’s Degree in a Finance, Accounting, Business or related field.
- Four (4) years of related experience in a Basic Research environment within a healthcare or academic organization.
- Proficient with state and federal policies that would impact research and grant financial activities.
- Strong financial experience of industry- sponsored and non-industry sponsored clinical trials.
- Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.

| Preferred Qualifications | - Experience at a non-profit and/or higher education medical center.
- Experience with OnCore® CRMS.
