Responsibilities*

Cell electrophysiology techniques 

Additionally, the applicant will be trained to assist with standard cell and ex vivo heart electrophysiology studies, involving cell patch clamp experiments  and optical mapping experiments in isolated (ex vivo) hearts of small (e.g., rodent)  as well as ovine models).  

Cell, molecular and biochemical techniques 

Applicant should be skilled in general cell culture techniques of primary cells such as  

Establishing primary cell cultures from small animal (rodent) hearts after cell isolation. 

Establishing cell line cultures (cell culture of human immortalized cell lines) 

• Cell transfection and transduction in primary and immortalized cell lines. 

Conduct, and assist with experiments involving 

• Western Blot
• rNA seq
• Flow Cytometry

Required Qualifications*

Bachelor's degree in science or related field.  Experience in basic Biochemistry laboratory techniques preferred.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
