Summary

The Department of Communication and Media in the College of Literature, Science and the Arts at the University of Michigan seeks applicants for a 83.3% Lecturer I position beginning August 29, 2022. The Department of Communication and Media offers Michigan students a chance to explore a range of topics from Critical Media Studies, Political Communication and Media Psychology. Responsibilities*

\n

The successful candidate will teach 2 3-credit 400 level undergraduate courses in Fall 2022 and 3 3-credit 400 level courses in Winter 23. The post holder will be expected to discuss with the department Chair and Associate Chair of Undergraduate Studies the curricular needs of undergraduate students and department requirements.

Required Qualifications*

\n

Preference will be given to candidates with a strong background in Communication and Media and industry experience. Teaching experience at the college/university level is preferred.

\n

Desired Qualifications*

\n

Graduate degree in Communication and Media or appropriately related discipline.

\n

Union Affiliation

\n

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
