Summary Michigan Creative, the largest provider of creative services to the University of Michigan, is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team. You will manage a wide variety of projects for the Office of the Vice President for Communications and other clients across U-M's 19 Ann Arbor schools and colleges, U-M Dearborn, U-M Flint, Michigan Medicine, and multiple institutes and centers. The Project Manager will be a member of an existing Project Management team that operates as a unit of the Office of the Vice President for Communications. Responsibilities* - Manage discovery, proposal, and creative brief processes.
- Work closely with the Strategy team to prepare and implement strategic marketing plans.
- Manage detailed project plans in our project management system (Wrike).
- Manage all jobs in our project database and diligently track actual fees and expenses against agreed-upon project budgets.
- Manage all project expenses, ensuring all project expenses are posted correctly.
- Lead cross-functional project team meetings to ensure understanding of project details.
- Oversee team execution of project deliverables following the established project plan
- Identify and raise budget, scope, or timeline concerns and offer ideas for solutions.
- Serve as primary contact for the client throughout the project to ensure dependencies are met.
- Share project updates with clients and the Managing Director, including schedule or scope changes.
- Collect and share/report data measuring project performance against established goals.
- Identify additional projects and new business opportunities from clients.
Required Qualifications* - A cover letter should be attached to the first page of your resume
- 5+ years in a professional project management position
- Experience managing a wide variety of marketing projects, including paid social/digital marketing, websites, and print
Desired Qualifications* - PMP or similar project management certification
- In-house or agency experience
- Marketing and advertising experience
- Capability in managing many details across many projects
- Higher education experience
- Experience managing video projects
- Leadership and motivational skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Handle deadlines and creative chaos well
- Customer-focused mindset
- Strong presentation skills
Work Schedule Michigan Creative is currently hybrid, with staff working in the office at least two days a week. Note: Currently, all interviews are being conducted virtually. While work arrangements are flexible with regard to work location, all new employees are expected to be within commuting distance from campus unless otherwise indicated in the job posting.
