Position Description:

Postdoctoral fellow position is available in the Storz laboratory in NICHD to study the functions of regulatory RNAs, particularly those overlapping protein coding sequences. How did these regulators evolve and how are the two functions of the same coding sequence expressed?

More about the research being conducted by the group can be found at https://www.nichd.nih.gov/about/org/dir/affinity-groups/CSB/storz. The Storz group is highly interactive, uses a wide range of techniques from genome-wide sequencing approaches to bacterial genetic screens and protein biochemistry, and has access to an exceptional set of research facilities on the Bethesda, MD campus. The group has regular meetings with other NIH groups and collaborates with investigators around the world.

Qualifications:

Candidates should be highly motivated, independent thinkers and have a demonstrated history of productivity and either a Ph.D. degree in a relevant field or an M.D. degree with research experience. Experience in bioinformatics and/or RNA-seq analysis is a benefit. Candidates must have less than 4 years of post-doctoral experience.

To Apply:

Send a cover letter describing your research experience, current interests and future goals, CV including bibliography, and contact information for three references to Dr. Gisela Storz (storzg@mail.nih.gov).
