The Department of Chemistry at the University of Alaska Anchorage invites applications for a postdoctoral research scientist position starting as early as July 2022. UAA Chemistry seeks candidates whose professional interests include pursuit of excellence in research, specifically in the area of metabolomics.
Evidence of a potential for successful research activities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Applicants should have experience operating appropriate analytical equipment, such as liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC/MS) and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (NMR). Applicants should demonstrate the ability to statistically analyze metabolomics datasets. Applicants should also possess appropriate bench chemistry skills.
REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:
A terminal degree in the field, such as a Ph.D. in the area of Biology, Chemistry, Health Sciences, or other closely related area, is preferred at the time of hire. The position’s specialization in the area of metabolomics is preferred. Applicants must have experience successfully executing research projects.
