Postdoc Research Associate
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will coordinate the team of internal evaluators to update the project's logic model and prepare a summary evaluation report that links evaluation data with the logic model to determine progress toward intended outcomes and identify opportunities to strengthen future efforts.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The ADVANCE Midwest Partnership project is seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the team of the project funded by the National Science Foundation’s ADVANCE program to support institutional practices leading to the increased representation of women in STEM disciplines. The collaborative project “Joining Forces: A midwestern partnership of research-intensive institutions for women STEM faculty success” consists of a partnership of four midwestern research institutions: Iowa State University (ISU), Michigan Technological University (MTU), North Dakota State University (NDSU), and Western Michigan University (WMU). The goal of the project, currently in its third year, is to adapt and implement cross-institutional practices to create institutional change that improves the climate for, and success of, underrepresented women STEM faculty and STEM women faculty with family caregiving responsibilities.
The successful candidate will join a team of faculty, administrators, and evaluators at Iowa State University, Michigan Technological University, North Dakota State University, and Western Michigan University, lead the analysis of project assessment and institutional data (qualitative and quantitative), and assist with the dissemination of project results and continued expansion of the project to other institutions. Additional responsibilities include creation of reports for the Advisory Board, external reviewer, and NSF, organizing and storing project data, and writing project reports. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will also have the opportunity to collaborate on research exploring COVID impacts on women STEM faculty being conducted by members of the ADVANCE Partnership team. The successful candidate will receive mentored scholarly and research training to enhance their research success skills and prepare for a faculty position at a research institution.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in science or engineering education, evaluation, women’s and/or gender studies, psychology, educational policy, higher education, sociology, or a related field.
- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Effective interpersonal skills, including ability to interact and collaborate effectively with diverse colleagues across four institutions
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, access, and inclusiveness
- Record of peer-reviewed publication
- Knowledge of literature on women and historically underrepresented groups in STEM fields and academia
- Research experience with quantitative assessment methods as demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications
- Proficiency in data management and analytics
- Effective written communication skills
