The Jiang lab is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join their lab. We are located within the Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics Department at the University of Virginia. The candidate will investigate the role of key chromatin modulators in gene expression involved in tumorigenesis by a combination of biochemical, molecular, genetic, and genomic approaches. The candidate will be matched with close mentorship, but is expected to be academically independent.
About the Jiang Lab: The broad interest of our laboratory is how gene regulation at the chromatin, transcriptional, and post-transcriptional levels controls the stability and plasticity of cell identity, how dysregulation of these mechanisms lead to diseases especially cancer, and how we may develop novel molecules to combat these diseases based on these mechanisms.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. (or equivalent) degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Biomedical Science, Development, Genomics, or a related field; one or more papers in top journals in molecular biology; and a strong interest in eventually competing for an academic position as a lab head at the forefront of biology.
The selected applicant will be required to complete a background check and health screening per University policy.
