Posting Summary
Rutgers New Jersey Medical School is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant for the Department of Medicine- Division of Cardiology. The primary purpose of the Temporary Research Assistant is to assist the Principal Investigator, Physicians, Division Administrator and Study Coordinators in all aspects of the Cardiology Research Programs and Clinical Trials. The Temporary Research Assistant will assist with all Pre- and Post-Award setups as well as providing administrative support to the Research Team.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Assists with the implementation of all clinical trials(coordinate site visits, assist with regulatory and startup paper work, prepare Clinical Trial Binders, assist with scheduling subjects, participate in Clinical Trial meetings once per week, make copies).
  • Obtains, interprets and evaluate patient’s data to assist the physician & coordinators in determining management and treatment of patients.
  • Assists in the identification and recruitment process in order to determine if patients are eligible for enrollment into research protocols and assists in obtaining all of the required consents.
  • Is responsible for the maintenance of weekly screening logs for all research related clinical activities.
  • Manages and enters accurate patient data into appropriate database.
  • Transcribes data to clinical research forms.

COVID-19 Immunization Requirement
Under Policy 60.1.35 , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.  Prospective employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment must provide proof they have received a booster within two weeks (14 calendar days) of eligibility .  Based on current guidance, individuals are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 two weeks after receiving the final dose of any COVID-19 vaccine authorized or approved for use in the United States by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  Eligibility for a booster against COVID-19 varies and is explained on the University’s web site located at https://coronavirus.rutgers.edu/covid-19-vaccine .  Failure to provide proof of primary vaccination and booster will result in rescission of a prospective employee’s offer of employment and/or disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university plus one (1) year of professional experience.
  • Equivalent education, experience, and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements

  • Must be computer literate and have working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Clinical Research Certification.
