| Posting Summary | Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for the Psychiatry Department at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow in the Clinical and Affective Neuroscience Lab , housed within the Center for Advanced Human Brain Imaging Research (CAHBIR) and the RWJMS Department of Psychiatry. The lab uses a combination of MRI techniques to understand the neural correlates of cognitive and affective processes that contribute to psychopathology. CAHBIR (https://sites.rutgers.edu/cahbir/) provides a state-of-art facility for brain imaging research and centers including the Rutgers University Center for Cognitive Science, the Rutgers-Princeton Center for Computational Cognitive Neuropsychiatry, the Rutgers Brain Health Institute and the RWJMS Department of Psychiatry provide exceptional opportunities for learning in clinical and cognitive neuroscience. Responsibilities of the Postdoctoral Fellow include designing, organizing, executing and communicating the results of research studies that further the aims of the Clinical and Affective Neuroscience Lab. In particular, the Postdoctoral Fellow will be expected to conduct and analyze neuroimaging studies related to dimensional models of psychopathology. Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Perform neuroimaging data analyses, including both functional and structural MRI data.
- Take a lead role in communicating the results of neuroimaging studies through scientific journal articles and conference
presentations. - Assist in developing cognitive tasks for use in functional MRI and cognitive neuroscience studies.
- Work with the research team to ensure conformance with the quality standards of the research lab.
- Keep detailed records of procedures and experiments.
- Assist with grant and IRB protocol preparation.
- Supervise undergraduate students and research assistants conducting research in the laboratory.

Minimum Education and Experience | - A PhD in a relevant science. Relevant Sciences include Clinical Psychology, Cognitive Science/Psychology and NeuroScience.
- Demonstration of a history of research success as demonstrated by first authored publications.
- The successful candidate is expected to have experience with neuroimaging methodologies.
- Experience with neuroimaging analysis tools, such as SPM, AFNI, or FSL is essential.

| Preferred Qualifications | - Programming experience preferably with Python or MATLAB.
- Candidates with direct experience working with clinical psychiatric populations and experience with psychopathology research are particularly sought for this position.
