Summary

 

Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) is seeking a faculty position at the level of Instructor, non-tenure track.   BCM is located within the Texas Medical Center in Houston, a premier research and clinical environment.

 

Dr. O'Malley is seeking an Instructor, NTT to work on   scientific research that will focus on steroid receptor coactivator molecular biology, small molecule inhibitor characterization, immune biology, as well as development of molecular and cellular assays.

 

Job Duties:

 

  • Plans, directs, and conducts research experiments.
  • Evaluates and analyzes data.
  • Develops research techniques and performs applications required for specific research projects.
  • Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in appropriate format.
  • Effectively documents results of experiments for reporting to supervisors and other members of management.

 

Minimum Qualifications”

 

  • Ph.D. and postdoctoral training in biology or an equivalent degree is required.
  • Two years of related experience in cancer biology models and other molecular biology laboratory techniques.
  • Applicants should have significant experience in general molecular biology techniques including PCR applications, Q-PCR, plasmid vector construction and tissue culture work. Experience in coactivator and nuclear receptor biology is preferred. Data analysis and bioinformatics skills are also preferred. Trouble shooting and problem-solving skills will also be required as well as the ability to analyze, organize communicate and present data effectively. Candidates should be able to work well in a team environment.
