The Doyle research group has worked at the forefront of algorithm development for the artificial pancreas for over 2 decades. There are a number of new postdoc projects in the lab, with opportunities for candidates with strong computational modeling and automatic control skills, ideally with some experience in biomedical applications. Other projects will focus more on data analytics, drawing on tools from machine learning, especially classification. Examples of application themes include glucagon modeling & control, and exercise detection & classification for diabetes.
The review process is competitive, based on academic record, as well as professional and extra-curricular experience.

PhD in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related fields.
