The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of Missouri has a postdoctoral position available immediately for a duration of one year. The post doctoral researcher will work in the area of nondestructive evaluation (NDE) for civil structures with a focus on highway bridges. Seeking a researcher with a background in one of the following areas: acoustics/ultrasonics for steel and/or concrete, nonlinear ultrasonics, ultrasonic stress measurement, transient infrared thermography, or reliability of NDE technologies. The postdoctoral researcher will assist with ongoing research in the NDE laboratory at MU, development of large proposals for future research, and publication of journal articles from ongoing and previous research.

The qualified candidate should have a Ph.D. degree in engineering or STEM related field by the time the appointment starts.

Consideration will be given to experience in the development of NDE technologies for damage detection, materials characterization and/or stress management as well as excellent technical writing skills.
