The University is seeking to hire a full-time Assistant Professor in the area of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and Disclosure.
Candidates should have
- a PhD in Accountancy;
- a good track record in the areas related to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and Disclosure;
- a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals and good pipeline of working papers that have a potential to be published in top-tier journals;
- a good track record in competitive grant applications in the relevant areas, successful record of GRF/ECS grant applications is preferred; and
- knowledge of data crawling, big data and AI is preferred.
The appointee will join the Faculty of Business (https://www.ln.edu.hk/fb/) and will be expected to conduct research projects and publish outputs with high impact, teach courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and participate in academic and professional activities. In particular, the appointee is expected to apply for external competitive grants, and commit to teaching excellence and active services to the Faculty and the University. Candidates are required to provide evidence of their research records and quality teaching. A proven record in academic leadership and institutional service would be a distinct advantage. Short-listed candidates will be requested to provide a sample course syllabus in the relevant field before the interview.
The conditions of appointment will be competitive. The rank and remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund, gratuity, and incoming passage and baggage allowance for the eligible appointee.
Appointment will normally be made on an initial contract of three years, which, subject to review and mutual agreement, may normally lead to longer-term appointment with possibility of consideration for substantiation.
