Mentor: Dr. Julie Quinet opens a new website, Department of Optometry

An NIH/NEI funded Postdoctoral position is immediately available in the lab of Dr. Julie Quinet at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) to study the neural control of coordinated eye movements in alert, trained non-human primates (Quinet et al., PNAS 2020).

The Quinet lab focuses on understanding the neural control of gaze movements in the 3D-space (vergence eye movements and disjunctive saccades). More specifically, the lab studies the subcortical and cerebellar regions involved in the neural control of coordinated eye movements in 3D-space. These studies are conducted in behaving non-human primates using electrophysiological (single- and multi-electrode recording, electrical microstimulation), pharmacological and anatomical techniques.
