Range 23 ($3,810.35- $6,082.18) per month based on the current Classified salary schedule. New employees will begin on Step A ($3,810.35), Step B ($4,000.87) with 18 months of verified, paid, full-time equivalent related job experience or up to Step C ($4,200.91) with 36 months of verified, paid, full-time equivalent related job experience. For purposes of salary placement, 7.5 semester units (or equivalent quarter units) of directly related coursework from a regularly accredited institution will be equivalent to one (1) year of job experience. Promoted or transferred employees will be placed as specified in the CBA. This position is FLSA Non-exempt (may accrue overtime). Excellent Benefits are provided to all Contract employees with assignments greater than, or equal to, 50% (0.50 FTE) and all eligible dependents. A temporary probationary period will apply to the employee entering this assignment. Miramar College is seeking an Instructional Lab Technician to support our Aviation programs. The position reports to the Dean of Business, Technical Careers, and Workforce Initiatives. The ideal candidate is someone who is highly qualified and highly knowledgeable in the field of aviation and deeply committed to student success. Applicants should possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to support our diverse student population and aviation programs. Additionally, candidates should be able to demonstrate ways they will develop tools and resources to better serve underprivileged and disproportionately impacted students. Candidates who possess technical experience in the aviation industry, are student-centric, and will continue to demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) to best serve our student population are strongly encouraged to apply.
Hours and days may vary Monday through Saturday, 40 hours per week. The selected candidate must be willing to adjust work days/hours based on the department’s needs. Assignment may include some combination of day, evening, and/or Saturday shifts.

Demonstrated experience and/or knowledge in working with faculty, staff, and students of great diversity in socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, including those with different levels of academic preparation and varying physical and learning abilities.
Demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to, and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and staff.
Professional aircraft maintenance work experience in airframes and/or commercial/transport aircraft, power plants and/or commercial/transport aircraft.
Applicants with foreign degrees from colleges or universities outside of the United States must have their coursework evaluated by a professional association that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or Academic Credentials Evaluation Institute, INC.(ACEI). Conditions of Employment:
SELECTED CANDIDATE IS REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT:
