Job Description Position Summary
This position is for a postdoctoral fellow (with benefits) to work on research on implicit bias, social cognition, and intergroup relations.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Analyzing Data: Compile, clean, and analyze data. May also code data from written text or video.
- Study Development & Coordination: Conduct literature review, design studies, create study materials and coordinate with external partners.
- Writing: Write manuscripts and prepare grant paperwork.
- Presentation of Research: Meet with the PI and the lab regularly to discuss research progress and address any issues that arise.
- Administration: Supervise research assistants, submit applications and modifications to the university IRB, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. degree in social psychology, sociology, political science, criminology, or a related social science field.
- Expertise with building lab and web-based survey studies.
- Demonstrated ability to complete projects, as evidenced by quantity and quality of publications.
- Evidence of ability to collaborate with colleagues beyond the PhD-granting University.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluency in the use of R for data cleaning and statistical analyses.
- Expertise with longitudinal data analyses (e.g., via mixed models).
- Expertise with research design in field experiments and/or program evaluation.
- Expertise in psychological intervention and/or diversity education.
- Familiarity with law enforcement administrative data.
- Knowledge of, or ability to acquire understanding of, theories of prejudice & stereotyping, behavior change, and police behavior.
- Skilled at research design, participant recruitment, data management, statistical analysis, and scientific writing, and an interest in mentoring junior lab members in these areas.
Salary Range
Base pay is commensurate with experience.
