Full Job Description
Job Duties
Butler Community College exists to develop responsible involved lifelong learners and to contribute to the vitality of the community it serves.
We are currently seeking a full-time instructor for our Education department. The successful applicant must have the necessary education and related professional experience to teach a variety of undergraduate courses in the teacher education department. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: curriculum development; Canvas master course maintenance and development; course accessibility compliance; course scheduling; departmental budget development; departmental and/or division reporting; departmental program and course assessment; creation and maintenance of 2+2 agreements with transfer schools; student recruitment and student advising; collaboration with other departments to ensure continuous quality improvement processes; and other tasks as assigned by the Dean or Department Chair.

Nature of Position : Faculty Full Time (length of contract): - 9 month contract

Qualifications

Required knowledge and skills
Must be skilled in a variety of instructional techniques and technologies, with a demonstrated commitment to student engagement and learning outcomes. Must be able to collaborate with colleagues and peers.
Required experience
- Successful completion of student teaching at the K-6, 5-8, or 7-12 level.
- Educational technology experience, preferably with Canvas LMS.
- Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining accessible curriculum.
- Demonstrated experience in course development, preferably using Canvas LMS.
Required educational background
- Master’s Degree in one of the following areas: education, elementary education, middle level education, secondary education, curriculum and instruction, or special education.
- Successful completion of a Kansas Teacher Licensure Program in either elementary (K-6), middle (5-8), or secondary (7-12) education.
- Current Kansas teaching license (initial, professional, or advanced license) at the K-6, 5-8, or 7-12 level
