Course Developer SO326 Sociology of Conflict, War, and Terror
Adjunct faculty are required to successfully complete an online Canvas LMS orientation course, as well as other training if required by the department. Course developers will work with a dedicated team of instructional designers and the PO program coordinator to create the best possible student experience. Course developers are asked to teach the course(s) they've created after the courses have been developed.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's in Sociology or 18 graduate credits in courses specifically designated as Sociology.
Course Description
Surveys the conditions under which conflicts arise, escalate, and are resolved or erupt into open hostility. Examines the social functions and consequences of warfare, including its relation to political, cultural, and economic concerns, and its affects on combatants. Traces the reasons for terrorism and its rise from the 20th century onward, including its connections to globalization and the global community. |
