Postdoctoral Scientist Autoimmunity and Thrombosis
The laboratory of Dr. Nicola Pozzi in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is recruiting a highly motivated and creative individual to work on an ambitious project whose goal is to elucidate the structural determinants underlying the function and recognition by autoantibodies of proteins playing critical roles in the autoimmune disorder Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS) and COVID-19.
The candidate will have access to a vibrant, fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment and state-of-the-art instrumentation, including two Cryo-EM microscopes, dedicated Cryo-EM data analysis stations, robotic instrumentation for the preparation, screening, and imaging of crystals, two X-ray generators, confocal and TIRF microscopes with single-molecule sensitivity.
The candidate is expected to manage and carry through the research project and write scientific publications.
Requirements
- A Ph.D. degree in biochemistry, biophysics, physics, or related discipline.
- Proven experience in single-particle cryo-EM, X-ray crystallography and/or single-molecule fluorescence spectroscopy.
- Analytical and detailed oriented
- Proficient communication skills and ability to work independently
- Excellent English skills, written and spoken.
