Job Summary: Under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee, The Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the Ph.D. or other doctoral degree.
Additional Department Summary: Dr. Bradley A. White, director of the Cognition, Emotion, and Self-Regulation Lab in the University of Alabama Center for Youth Development and Intervention is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to contribute to our ongoing NIMH R61/R33 clinical trial. This study tests a computerized Facial Affect Sensitivity Training Intervention that focuses on improving affect sensitivity in children ages 6-11 with callous-unemotional traits. This is a full-time, salaried position with flexible start date and regular university employee benefits. Review of applications will begin upon receipt and continue until the position is filled.
Required Department Minimum Qualifications: This position requires PhD in Clinical Psychology or a related field (e.g., experimental psychology, neuroscience, human development, child and family studies, social work). This position requires at least a one-year full-time commitment, with two or more years preferred. Prior research coordinator experience and prior experience working with children are preferred. Given that this project involves working with children and their caregivers outside of children’s school hours, it requires working on-site at the Center in afternoons, evenings and on weekends. This position is ideal for individuals interested in clinical research involving eye tracking and EEG.
