Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The Environmental Sustainability Lab (ESL) (https://faculty.sites.iastate.edu/yuyuzhou/environmental-sustainability-lab-esl) in the Department of Geological & Atmospheric Sciences at Iowa State University is seeking one Postdoctoral Research Associate for NSF and NASA funded research projects. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will work with Dr. Yuyu Zhou and an interdisciplinary team of researchers on global urbanization and energy use modeling.  This is a one-year appointment, with the possibility of renewal for additional years based on satisfactory performance. Start date is negotiable.

The candidate must have received a Ph.D. degree within the past five years from an accredited institution in one or more relevant disciplines, such as geography, environmental sciences, meteorology, geoscience, landscape ecology, agriculture sciences or related fields. A solid programming background is required, preferably with some formal training. Preference will be given to candidates with research experience in building energy use studies or WRF modeling. Experience in remote sensing, geospatial data analysis, large data processing languages/environments such as R and MATLAB is preferred.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

- Ph.D. degree within the past five years from an accredited institution in one or more relevant disciplines, such as geography, environmental sciences, meteorology, geoscience, landscape ecology, agriculture sciences or related fields.
