Position Highlights |
A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the lab of Dr. Jeffrey Pu at the University of Arizona Cancer Center (UACC). The selected candidate will oversee a translational cancer research project in developing an effective mutation screen methodology, exploring the mechanism of specific gene regulated genomic stability (CIN), or developing novel cellular therapy technology The UACC is the only National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center headquartered in the state of Arizona, dedicated to the prevention and cure of cancer through patient care, research, and education.

Duties & Responsibilities |
- Be able to perform Quantitative RT-PCR, DNA/protein gels, cell cultures, immunohistochemistry staining and analysis, and imaginings.
- Conduct experiments with human and
mouse PBMCs, cell lines, and spleen/bone marrow samples. Duties include
processing samples, propagating cellular cultures in vitro, and extraction
of biologic material for downstream analysis.
- Evaluation of biologic
readouts.
- Assist in IRB submissions and
grant applications.
- Participate in manuscript preparation.
- Additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications |
- PhD with at least 2 years experience in laboratory research.
- Expertise in cell culture.
- Experience with Flowcytometry, RNA transcriptional profiling, ELISA, Western blotting, and collection and analysis of data.
|
Preferred Qualifications |
*Ability to plan and execute experiments, analyze data, and trouble-shoot technical problems, and write scientific reports/grant proposals.
*Willingness to work with both human samples and mice tissues with sufficient knowledge in molecular cell biology, immunology, biochemistry, and experience in mice.
* Experience with CRISPR-Cas9, molecular cloning, and other molecular biology techniques preferred.
