TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE 1, CONFORMABLE DECODERS, Media Lab, to collaborate and research fabrication and characterization piezoelectric devices (especially ultrasound transducers) for biomedical and healthcare applications, especially on conformable ultrasound system for real-time tissue/organ imaging. Will assist a research scientist or postdoctoral fellows with the fabrication and characterization of piezoelectric devices and systems and support research activities for other research staff consisting of graduate and undergraduate researchers. Responsibilities include working on fabricating piezoelectric devices and performing experimental tasks in other labs at different locations (i.e., Harvard CNS, MIT.nano, etc.); formulating and performing electrical/acoustic characterization of transducers; ordering materials and performing laboratory upkeep; summarizing and documenting research results/findings; training and coordinating the work of less experienced staff, new team members, and UROPs; assisting with general lab and tool maintenance; and performing other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; at least two years’ experience in a research laboratory environment operating experimental equipment; experience working with materials preparation, micro-fabrication techniques, piezoelectric device fabrication and/or characterization; commitment to exceeding standards and producing accurate, high-quality work; meticulous attention to detail; practiced documentation skills; and ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
