Quinnipiac University's School of Business invites applications for the Associate Dean for Faculty. The Associate Dean provides collaborative, strategic leadership and operational excellence to assure the recruitment, development and retention of a distinguished faculty and advance the school’s teaching and research programs. The Associate Dean will join a dynamic School of Business team dedicated to going beyond business-as-usual building the university of the future.
The Associate Dean of Faculty for the School of Business serves on the school’s leadership team and advances the development and implementation of School of Business strategic plan as well as supporting the implementation of the University’s strategic plan. The Associate Dean of Faculty works collaboratively across the university fostering interdisciplinary and innovative teaching and research. The Associate Dean is a member of the university’s Associate Dean Council and represents the school internally and externally to advance the mission of the school.
This is a* full-time, 12-month appointment,* reporting directly to the Dean of the School of Business. The Associate dean may be required to teach at the graduate or undergraduate level (1/1 load) and shall maintain scholarly academic qualifications as defined by the school’s standards for teaching, research, and service.

Provide strategic leadership for faculty matters including:

  • Developing, implementing, and managing processes for ensuring excellence in teaching, including faculty development and mentorship initiatives
  • Collaborating with faculty, chairs, and center directors in assuring curricular excellence and innovation, including working with faculty on continuous curriculum improvement, identifying and overseeing the development of new curriculum and programs, including certificates and badges
  • Crafting and implementing a strategy, system, and culture to promote faculty and student research excellence, including overseeing internal and external grant-based funding and research support activities such as symposia, conferences speaker series

Responsible for the operational excellence needed to promote the school’s strategic objectives and critical success factors including:

  • Overseeing faculty hiring, orientation, development, review, and promotion processes, including managing and communicating faculty AACSB qualifications
  • Systems and processes for assessment/assurance of learning and monitoring and reporting requirements for continuous improvement of AACSB accreditation
  • Providing faculty and department chairs support, and guidance for the school’s committee on standards for scholarly activity
  • Supervising the administrative support team
  • Assuring policies and processes to support faculty governance, including grade appeals and faculty governance elections.

Education Requirements:

  • PhD from a research-oriented program, in a relevant field of study qualified to earn the rank of a tenured professor at Quinnipiac University


  • Proven record of collaborating with faculty and staff to initiate and implement innovation and initiatives that advance the quality, access, and impact of business education
  • Commitment to excellence in education and demonstrated experience developing talent, building strong teams, and assuring inclusive, collaborative environments
  • Academic administrative experience, demonstrated success overseeing complex systems, identifying, and implementing new initiatives
  • Experience with Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) continuous improvement including documentation, and assessment of learning
  • Collaborating with faculty across disciplines, experience working across units and functional areas, including forging, and overseeing interdisciplinary programs and initiatives
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment handling many projects simultaneously, exceptional organization skills.
