Job Description Summary |
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Auburn University invites applications for several one- or two-year postdoctoral positions. Each year is considered a 12-month appointment. The two-year appointments would be non-renewable, while the one-year appointments would be renewable once pending need, satisfactory performance, and availability of funding. Each postdoctoral scholar is responsible for teaching 3 courses per year. The desired starting date is August 16, 2022. We seek applicants whose research interests are compatible with faculty research in the department. In particular, the Department is looking for applicants in the following areas: · Geometric topology. Advised by Dr. Hannah Alpert: http://webhome.auburn.edu/~hca0013/ · Probability and stochastic processes with preference given to stochastic analysis and stochastic partial differential equations. Advised by Dr. Le Chen: http://webhome.auburn.edu/~lzc0090/ · Statistics with preference given to network optimization, stochastic optimization, percolation, and random graph theory. Minimum Qualifications |
Applicants must have earned a PhD or equivalent degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field by the time appointment begins. The candidates selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment. In addition, candidates must possess excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
