University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) is currently seeking a postdoctoral scholar who will focus on advanced in-situ scanning/transmission electron microscopy (S/TEM) and electron energy-loss spectroscopy (EELS) studies of nanomaterials. The position is at Prof. Shahbazian-Yassar’s group in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at UIC.
Candidates will access to the state-of-the-art TEM/STEM facilities available at the UIC RRC Core: https://rrc.uic.edu/cores/electron-microscopy-service-ems/ . Also, additional access to TEM facilities at Northwestern University can be obtained.

Required Qualifications: A Ph.D. in physics, chemistry, materials science or related disciplines is required. Strong background in aberration corrected TEM, in-situ TEM holders (thermal/electrical, electrochemistry, liquid cell, gas cell, etc), EELS analysis, and TEM image simulation. The applicant should have relevant publications in these areas.
