Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Manager of Leave Administration within the leadership team of the OneSource Faculty and Staff Service Center (OneSource). This position will manage the administration of all aspects of employee leaves university-wide while providing and ensuring appropriate guidance and excellent customer service to employees, managers and the university community. Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Manages the daily delivery of leave administration services to faculty and staff across the university.
- Serves as a subject matter resource for leave administration specialists and the university community.
- Ensures all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality and cost-effective service to customers.
- Supports the development of OneSource policies and procedures ensuring that they promote leading practices and comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Investigates and resolves employee issues related to leaves of absence.
- Establishes operational goals and objectives for all leave administration specialists.
- Develops and monitors the performance of leave administration specialists regarding service standards and associated KPIs for service quality, accuracy, timeliness, consistency, customer satisfaction and resource management.
- Coaches specialists on service delivery expectations, accuracy of operational processes, and job knowledge to enhance employee performance.
- Leads employee engagement and development initiatives for leave administration specialists to enhance job satisfaction and morale.
- Creates, fosters, and maintains a collaborative, innovative and customer focused team culture.
- Collaborates with OneSource leadership and university leadership to develop the overall strategic plan and growth strategy for OneSource as it relates to leave administration.
- Makes recommendations regarding the suite of leave administration services offered in OneSource.
- Ensures the successful transition of strategy into tangible objectives, targets, and actions.
- Identifies process improvement opportunities across end-to end leave administration processes and leads process and technology driven business process reengineering initiatives.
- Updates knowledge management resources to ensure the latest information is being shared / communicated to faculty and staff.
- Enhances services within the case management system and prepares reports to monitor and analyze case volume and workload of leave administration specialists.
- Develops and maintains systems and programs for leave approvals, tracking, and notifications.

Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in human resources, business or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in human resources including significant responsibility for leave administration and compliance with applicable federal and state employment and leave laws, e.g. FMLA, NJFLA, USERRA.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Master’s degree, preferably in human resources management or business or related field.

PHR, SPHR, or other Human Resource Management certification preferred.
- Knowledge of KPI and SLA design and analytics.
