Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for the Biostatistics and Epidemiology Department within the School of Public Health. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI), the Postdoctoral Fellow will be responsible for the design and development of research projects, data processing and analysis. Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Works on NIH-funded research programs to advance analysis of single-cell transcriptomes.
- Takes the lead in the design and development of research projects, data processing, statistical/computational analysis, etc.
- Responsible for scientific writing and present results at internal meetings and international conferences.
- Assists in the training and supervision of students.
- Contributes and creates a healthy and inclusive group atmosphere by working collaboratively with all team members.

- A PhD degree in a related field (statistics, biostatistics, computer science, machine learning, mathematics, bioinformatics, computational biology, etc.)
- A publication record of at least two first-author (including co-first author) papers/preprints are required at the time of application.

- Strong programming skills: (e.g., R, Python, C/C, etc.)
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English
- Enthusiasm for statistical/computational genomics
- Strong quantitative background (statistical modeling, machine learning, etc.) or extensive computational genomics experiences (high-throughput sequencing data analysis, bioinformatic applications, etc.)
