Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Pediatric Hematology/ Oncology at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. The primary purpose of the Postdoctoral Appointee position is to conduct research investigation into psychosocial aspects of pediatric, adolescent, and young adult cancer survivorship under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, Katie Devine, PhD. Duties include assisting with: 1) conduct of problem-solving skills training intervention for young adults with cancer as part of NIH-funded research study; 2) implementation of ongoing research and obtaining preliminary data for grant submissions; 3) data management and analysis; 4) training and supervising staff and students; 5) writing and submitting manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals; and 6) development and writing of research grant applications. Considerable opportunities exist for mentored professional development including analytic skills for quantitative and qualitative data, randomized controlled trials, writing lead-author papers, and designing, applying for, and conducting NIH-funded research. Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Assist the principal investigator (PI) in ongoing research, including delivery of a problem-solving skills training intervention.
- Assist the PI with analyzing data and preparing manuscripts, reports, and presentations.
- Assist the PIs with the development and writing of research grant proposals.
- Present research results at local and national meetings.
- Assist the PI with training and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds and disciplines.
