Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Visiting Researcher for the Department of Neuroscience and Cell Biology within the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.  Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Visiting Researcher will understand the role of potassium channels in neurodegenerative disease, with a particular focus on Alzheimer’s. 
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Prepares experimental data for publication and grant applications.
  • Maintains accurate records of laboratory notebooks and research activity. Reviews literature and prepares manuscripts and abstracts for submission.
  • Presents findings at national meetings.
  • Mentors graduate/undergraduate students.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or be working towards a Master’s Degree in Neuroscience or related disciplines with evidence of productivity and strong commitment to neuroscience research. 
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Preference for self-motivated candidates with prior experience in mouse models, primary neuronal cultures, mammalian cells cultures, Nomarski and confocal imaging, Western blot analysis, immunohistochemistry. 
Preferred Qualifications
  •  Additional expertise in molecular biology.
